With over 30,000 square feet of testing space, 3D printers, a full machine shop, and multi-physics simulation capabilities, BEAR performs state of the are development, analysis, and forensic work on a wide range of products and equipment.
Our Berkeley facility includes an explosion and combustion laboratory, chemical, and metallurgical analysis capabilities, electron and conformal mapping microscopes, xRay and FTIR analysis, 3D laser and structured light scanning, and large scale electrical and mechanical testing capabilities.
BEAR is ready to serve your development, engineering, and forensic needs.

BEAR Offices and Yard

  • BEAR Engineers have consulted on hundreds of critical, high-profile projects including the Alaskan Pipeline, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Herculues blowout in the Gulf of Mexico, the Milwaukee Brewers Stadium opening/closing roof design, the Tower Air 747 fire at the Miami airport, the San Bruno pipeline explosion, among many others.

  • BEAR Engineers have participated in the development of numerous products, including PWM electric motor controllers, sliding friction dampers for the Golden Gate Bridge, microwave cauterizing forceps for surgery, heavy lift cranes for Bigge Crane and Rigging, shoe inserts, lap counters, radar based blowout prevention sensors, and structured light scanners for the Secret Service.

  • BEAR Engineers have testified in hundreds of legal disputes including the BP Macondod Well blowout in the Gulf of Mexico, the GM ignition switch cases, gasoline, alcohol, and lighter fluid container explosion cases, and Lithium Ion battery explosion cases.

  • BEAR Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, and Materials Engineers have experience with improving the design of a wide range of products ranging from glued connections in jewelry to aorta implants and pacemakers, to safety interlocks in trucks and industrial plants.

  • BEAR's Forensic Economist specializes in oil spills and environmental pollution from industrial accidents, agriculture, wetland/wilderness valuation, and risk analysis. These services include the complete range of expertise counsel relevant to litigation.

  • BEAR's Computational Simulation capabilties have been used to model helicopter lifts, crane tip-overs, electrical interlock performance, and gas bubble formation in ultra-deep oil and gas wells. BEAR has two active jet and helicopter pilots on staff.
